At NGR, we want to make the world a little bit better every day, not only by keeping plastics in the loop with our technologies, but also by contributing to a sustainable future ourselves.
As a company, we are aware that our actions have an impact on the environment. That is why we have set ourselves the goal of reducing our energy consumption and using renewable energies.
An important step in this process was the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof of our Plant II in Feldkirchen an der Donau. With 600 modules on a roof area of approximately 2,000 square meters, we generate 261,000 kWh of energy annually, avoiding around 120,000 kg of CO₂ emissions.
For this amount of CO₂, cars would have to drive around 900,000 kilometers less or airplanes would have to fly around 600,000 kilometers less. To produce a similar amount of carbon dioxide emissions could power a household for 80 years.
For us, this investment in renewable energy is an important part of a long-term sustainability plan and reflects our responsibility toward available resources and future generations.
By generating our own electricity in the future, we can not only reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, but also lower our own energy costs in the long term.
By installing PV modules, we not only minimize our own environmental impact, but also operate more sustainably and save costs in our production every month. We also rely on electric mobility for our company fleet and reduce further emissions.
By doing so, as a best practice example along the way, we would like to encourage other companies to take similar steps and make their contribution to environmental protection and energy efficiency.
Because we believe that every contribution counts and each of us has a certain responsibility towards our resource planet to protect it and ensure a sustainable future.
